ABOUT THE DESIGNER

I, Egle Cekanaviciute, am Lithuanian based in Paris, a representative of the 4th generation of tailors and a Central Saint Martins graduate.

Launched in 2019, GOWNS is a celebration to my 15 years of design experience at multiple luxury fashion houses: Céline by Phoebe Philo, Dior, Margiela, Nina Ricci, Schiaparelli and others.

My goal as a designer is to cater to real people surrounding me – ones who work, have kids, and enjoy themselves.

For me this is SPORT.

Our history: four generations of dressmakers

EGLE CEKANAVICIUTE, co-founder, designer

- BA, Fashion design with Marketing, Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London 

- Previously designer at Dior, Margiela, Céline with Phoebe Philo, Nina Ricci, Lanvin, Lemaire, Jacquemus and Schiaparelli.

- Currently teaching BA Fashion Design at Institut Français de la Mode in Paris 

LINAS CEKANAVICIUS (Egle's brother), co-founder, business development manager

- Bachelor of Economics, University of Nottingham

- Runs an apparel technology business

GRAZINA CEKANAVICIENE (Egle's mother), prototype developer, bespoke & production manager

- Bachelor of Design & technology, Technology Institute of Kaunas

- 40 years of experience in the fashion and bespoke industry

Our goal is to challenge the contemporary beauty ideal, liberate and invite people to celebrate their real, legitimate bodies.

Slow fashion mindset

An alternative to the traditional fashion cycle, GOWNS are made-to-order online only – avoiding waste or retail costs, and making luxury more accessible.

Our products are designed in Paris, and handcrafted in small series in Egle’s native Lithuania (EU), right in her family’s atelier, maintaining the full control and highest quality.

Egle with her mother Grazina in the family's atelier in Kaunas, Lithuania. Grazina takes care of the pattern development for GOWNS and production.

Egle's brother Linas is in charge of cutting the garments for production, with an automated CNC machine, to guarantee your sharpest and neatest raw edge
